Terms and Conditions
Room Rates
The published rate is per room, per night and includes a full
English Breakfast.
Deposits
A 50% deposit will be taken by credit/debit card at the time of
booking to secure the room. Deposits are non-refundable.
Cancellations
Any cancellation must be made 7 days prior to your arrival date. If
a cancellation is made within the 7 days of your arrival, the full
balance of your stay will be charged. If you are concerned about
the possibility of cancellation you are advised to take out travel
insurance.
Payment
At Brightlingsea Motel, full payment is required upon arrival. We
accept payment by cash, cheque (with a valid cheque guarantee card),
credit and debit cards (Maestro, Visa, MasterCard and American
Express). Guests paying by cash are required to provide
identification at check-in. Acceptable forms of identification
are: passport, driving licence, credit and debit cards, current
utility bills or bank statement.
Arrival and Departures
Check-in is from 4pm-7pm and we reserve the right to refuse guest
entry should it be deemed necessary. Full payment is required at
this time and you will be required to fill in a registration card.
You will then be given a key card for your room that will allow
access into your room and access into the courtyard via the electric
entrance gates. Check-out is by 11am and we request that your key
card be deposited in a box at the reception desk; alternatively it
can be left by your tea tray in your room.
Breakfast
This is served in the conservatory between 7-9am Monday to Friday
and 8-10am on the weekends and public holidays. Any vegetarian
requests are to be made at check-in.
Insurance
Whilst we have full insurance at the premises, this does not cover
guests’ personal effects. Therefore, please be careful with your
belongings as we can accept no responsibility for them.
Smoking
All bedrooms, bathrooms and the conservatory are non-smoking.
However, there is seating and ashtrays provided outside in the
courtyard for those who wish to smoke.
Fire Safety
A highly sensitive smoke detection system has been installed in each
room. Therefore, please remember your safety and the safety of
others. No electrical equipment, such as toasters or mini cookers
are to be used. Smoking is strictly prohibited and the use of
candles is forbidden.
Pets
We regret that, with the exception of assistance dogs, no animals or
pets are allowed on the premises.
Guest consideration
We would like to ensure that all our guests’ stay with us is
enjoyable. Therefore, we politely ask all our guests to respect
each other’s stay with us. We may ask you and/or any member of your
party to leave immediately if your conduct is considered by us to be
inappropriate, likely to cause harm or discomfort to other guests,
us or staff. No refunds will be given in these circumstances. We
have the right either during or after your stay to recover from you
the costs of any of the following: any compensation we may pay to
others, including our guests; any property or accommodation damage;
missing or damaged articles of the Motel; any other charges, fees or
levies we may incur resulting from your action or inaction and from
any breach of this term. The recovery of costs will be by way of
credit/debit card or such other manner we see fit. We also reserve
the right to vary the Terms and Conditions at any time.
Please note that by staying with us, you agree to abide by the
